SGY Worship are a group of young people from the Canberra/Queanbeyan region who are determined to bring the love of the Gospel to everyone.
Music played a big role in each of their faith, and the group have witnessed the power of praise firsthand. As our resident youth music ministry, they lead the community of St Gregory's most weekends, and continually strive to discover new ways of leading people into relationship with Christ through music.
SGY Worship is the longest running of the SGY ministries, and has come a long way in just 2 years. This comes down down to their passion and commitment to everything they do, giving their all every time they're needed.
One initiative of SGY Worship, coming soon to a cafe near you, is Street Ministry.
Long ago the group realised that a song doesn't need to have the word "Jesus" in it to be worship. Simply doing something beautiful, in a state of prayer is a way in which we can glorify God.
"We realised that any music has a way of connecting us to God, the way it can make us feel things we can't find anywhere else"
So the group decided to start bringing that music, to everyone, whether they were in church or in a cafe on Saturday mornings, everyone deserves that feeling!
Street Ministry is still in it's early stages, but the more the group get out there, the more people they will touch.
