The Sacrament of Baptism
In our parish of St Gregory’s, Baptisms are held on the 3rd and 4th Sundays of each month at St Raphael’s church in Queanbeyan at 10.30. When necessary, four baptisms may be celebrated together.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is sometimes referred to as Penance or Confession. It is through this sacrament that we bring children and their families to a fuller understanding of the love, compassion and forgiveness offered by God within a Christian community. Children celebrate this sacrament in Year 3.
The Sacrament of Eucharist
This Sacrament is often referred to as First (Holy) Communion. It is through this sacrament that we bring children and their families to a fuller understanding of Jesus becoming present through the bread and wine that is offered during Mass. Children celebrate this Sacrament in Year 4.
The Sacrament of Confirmation
Children who are baptised Catholic, have celebrated the sacraments of Reconcilition and 1st Eucharist and are in Year 6 may be enrolled for this sacrament. Confirmation is the completion of the sacrament of Baptism by which the Holy Spirit is imparted in a special way for the strengthening of the believer.
The Sacrament of Marriage
Weddings are celebrated at St Gregory’s Church, Molonglo St and at St Raphael’s Church, Lowe Street. St Raphael’s Church holds approximately 500 people and St Gregory’s church 150.
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
